Anxiety and Depression Research

Community Navigator Trial
Testing new ways to help people with treatment resistant depression who are also experiencing feelings of loneliness by increasing social inclusion in community.

CONTACT-GAD - BEH only 
To test the effectiveness of tailored ACT for reducing anxiety in older people with TR-GAD. 

CoComp - C&I only 
To identify potential neuro-cognitive mediators of psychotherapeutic interventions for depression.

PAX-D - C&I only 
To evaluate the efficacy and mechanism of pramipexole (Parkinson’s medication) as add-on treatment for people with treatment resistant depression (TRD). 

Social Brain - C&I only 
Looking at the social brain and decision-making skills in people seeking CBT for psychological difficulties.

VRCOM-F - C&I only 
To see if a new therapy combining self-compassion with VR helps people with depression in comparison to those on waiting list for therapy.

ADHD and Learning Disabilities Research

CST-IDD
To test the feasibility and effectiveness of group CST for people with learning disabilities and dementia.

ART-CARMA - BEH only 
The study of cardiometabolic risk factors and medication adherence in people with ADHD. 

Petal - C&I only 
To develop a personalised treatment package for aggressive challenging behaviour in people with Learning Disabilities.
 

Psychosis Research

ADEPP - C&I only 

To establish the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of an antidepressant medication (sertraline) for the prevention of a depressive episode following first episode psychosis (FEP). 

CaFI
CaFi is a talking therapy culturally adapted with African and Caribbean people with psychosis, and their families.

PIPP2
To establish the prevalence of neuronal cell surface antibodies in people with psychosis.

RADAR Follow-up - BEH only 
A long-term follow-up study investigating the effect of reduction and discontinuation of antipsychotic medication.

CNNP - BEH only 
To understand the neurocognitive aspects of people with a psychotic disorder.
 

Intervention Research

Assured - C&I only 
Improving outcomes in patients who self-harm by adapting and evaluating a brief Psychological Intervention in Emergency Departments. 

Finch - C&I only
To develop and test an intervention to prevent compulsory readmission and develop self-management skills among people who have been compulsorily detained under the Mental Health Act.

More Respect - BEH only
To trial an intervention designed to promote sexual health for people with severe mental illnesses and to assess its clinical and cost effectiveness.

ERiC - BEH only
To evaluate the clinical utility of Mentalization Based Treatment (MBT) for children with mixed emotional and behavioural difficulties. 
 

Physical Health Research

TAPA 
Aims to create questionnaires to assess the physical health barriers in people with psychosis.


UAA - BEH only
To investigate the types of thoughts leading to, and preventing, aggressive behaviour in people with psychosis. 
 

Genetic Testing Research

GLAD
To explore genetic predictors of depression and anxiety disorders.

Pharmaco - C&I only 
To see if genetic testing could be useful for patients who are going to be given psychiatric drugs as treatment for their mental illness.
