St Pancras Transformation Programme

Through the St Pancras Transformation Programme, we will deliver purpose-built community and inpatient facilities that are fit for 21st Century mental health care.

Highgate East

Artists impression on Highgate East Our new flagship inpatient building at Highgate East will open in March 2024, replacing the ageing wards at St Pancras Hospital. The modern environment at Highgate East will enable mental health recovery through providing therapeutic spaces for our service users and giving our staff the facilities needed to provide the best possible care.

Highgate East will offer 78 single en suite rooms, outdoor space from each ward and modern therapy spaces. It will also form a new single campus with the Highgate Mental Health Centre (Highgate West), improving the way that clinical cover is organised and how facilities are managed.

Highgate East will be a place where everyone is welcome, and everyone is respected. The architects have listened to the views of service users and staff to deliver a calming and relaxed environment that supports recovery.

Lowther Road

An artists impression of Lowther Road from the street Improving the quality of our community facilities is a crucial part of our plans to help people with mental health problems to live well in their communities.

When constructiion completes in early 2024, Lowther Road in Islington will offer the best possible environment to enable mental health recovery by providing therapeutic spaces for our service users and giving our staff the facilities needed to provide the highest standrads of care.

The purpose-built design will provide a modern workplace for our clinical teams and the building will be future-proofed so that it can be adapted to accommodate a range of different services as needs change. Importantly, this will not be a space exclusively for our staff and service users, a community café will make this somewhere which everyone can use and enjoy.
