Dr Lucy Wilson-Shaw was highly commended as a Patient Champion at the NHS Leadership Recognition Awards. Her nomination read: “By building up and maintaining a dedicated and enthusiastic Advisory Group of Ex-Service Users who are strong and vocal in their opinions and play an important role in service development and improving patient care, Lucy has ensured that meaningful service user involvement will remain at the centre of iCope.”
iCope has been shortlisted for Innovation in Healthcare, Education and Training at the Health Education North Central and East London Quality Awards 2015. The service, which provides brief psychological interventions to patients with common mental health problems, has been recognised for hosting talks at local primary schools. They have been educating parents and teachers on the impact of stress, low mood and relaxation.
The Sewing Circle exhibition has been two years in the planning and now the wait is over. Twenty-four artists, both young and old, of all genders, using traditional and contemporary methods of needlework and sewing, have created a real time warp of the old and the new.
