Welcome to our new Governors

C&I Governors logo

After a 12-week campaign, we are excited to announce the Governors Election results!

Thank you to everyone who took part. Our campaigning was done differently this year due to COVID-19 but doing promotional activities online for the first time has opened up a whole new set of opportunities for us which we would like to retain for the future.

We are delighted to inform you that we had a very good turnout. A total of 29 candidates stood for the 14 seats and impressively all constituencies being elected to, were contested (i.e. we received more nominations in each of the constituencies than the number of seats we were electing to). This success was against national trend and we’re so pleased to have such an engaged and supportive community.

After almost five weeks of voting, the elections were drawn to a close on 2 September and the following members have been elected:

  • Service User and Carer Governors:  Hagir Ahmed, Bamidele Esuola, Peter Lyons, Michael A. Rowan
  • Camden Public Governors: Dr Maz Afridi, Samantha Gordon, Michelle Murray, Nicholas Russell
  • Islington Public Governors: Frances Bradley, Olga Cecilia Farach, Valerie Graham-Dunkley, Jacqueline Noone
  • Staff Governors: Mitchelle Tokunbo Basorun-Smith, Simon Ramage

All candidates have been informed of the election outcome. Elected Governors will begin their three-year term at the virtual Annual Members’ Meeting taking place on 7 October. At this point, we will also be saying farewell to those Governors who have come to the end of their terms.
