Special event for service users and carers: Proposed new community hubs

Future mental health care will need more services in the community and our proposal to develop new community mental health hubs in Camden and Islington, as part of the St Pancras site redevelopment programme, supports this. Developing community care will allow us to work in a more joined-up way across each of our boroughs with physical health and social care partners – removing the barriers to personalised and coordinated services that our communities need.
Whilst we have had lots of conversations about the Trust’s redevelopment plans, the focus so far has been on the proposed move of inpatient beds from St Pancras Hospital to Highgate. Now, we would like to share our ambition for the community hubs in more detail and listen to views, ideas and concerns.
We are inviting service users and carers to a special event, hosted by our medical director Dr Vincent Kirchner, which is being held in a central location so that residents from both Camden and Islington can come together. We believe that this will support a more meaningful conversation as a wider number of views can be heard and discussed.
