Officially breaking the ground to build our new hospital

Breaking the ground at Highgate East

Staff and service user representatives were invited to join Trust directors Angela McNab, Chief Executive, and Malcolm McFrederick, St Pancras Transformation Programme Director, to officially break the ground at Highgate East.

After two-years of co-design work with service users and staff, building work has begun for the Trust’s new 78-bed mental health hospital, which will help to care for the c.2500 patients the Trust admits each year. It will open in late 2023.

The new facility will include all single en-suites rooms, outdoor space from each ward, therapy spaces, plus a sports hall and café open to our wider community.

In this short movie you can see how the new building will look and feel and hear about the journey so far from our staff and service users.
