Official launch of Better Lives Service and new site

Better Lives launch event
10 October 2018
Service users, staff and commissioners and representatives from the third sector gathered at an official launch event of the Better Lives Service and opening of 28B King Henry’s Walk on Tuesday 9 October.
The joyous event was attended by the Mayor of Islington, Cllr. David Poyser, Council leader Richard Watts and Cllr. Janet Burgess MBE. The Mayor officially opened the site by giving a welcoming speech and was given a tour of the site by Gillian Patterson, Islington Services Borough Manager. Guests at the event were also able to take a preview tour of the site before it opens its doors for business.
Peter Kane, Divisional Director, Substance Misuse Services, also gave a welcoming speech where he thanked everyone involved for their hard work in making Better Lives and King Henry’s Walk possible. He gave a special thanks to service user groups ICDAS and EAGLE for their involvement in this co-production.
28B King Henry’s Walk is one of three sites offering support services for individuals and their families affected by drug and alcohol problems in Islington. It is also home to the Better Lives Family Service. Better Lives is delivered by the Trust in partnership with WDP and Blenheim. You can find out more about the Better Lives Service on our webbsite here.
The new site offers a modern, relaxing environment where people are made to feel at home and can easily get expert advice closer to where they live. Below are some photos of the site and the event for you to browse.
