New model of care for substance misuse services

SMS service changes
The new model of care for substance misuse services in Islington is due to start on 1 April and will be phased in over a period of months. We know that change is difficult and we have been working hard to keep everyone informed, on an individual basis, of any difference to how you currently access your care. This work will continue up to and beyond the launch date for the new service.
We are excited and optimistic about the new care model which has been clinically proven to be effective, with many positive benefits. Its focus will be on greater collaboration with service users, with a shift towards venues in the community where more people can access expert help.
In the lead-up to 1 April, we will be running information sessions at the following venues where everyone is welcome to come along and ask further questions or to raise any concerns:
