“I’m speechless! Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” were the words shared by Joy Anamuehan when she was surprised on Thursday 17 January with the Star of the Month award.
Joy, who works as a Support Worker on Ruby Ward, was nominated by colleagues for her ‘warm’ and ‘friendly’ nature whilst working with colleagues and caring for service users.
Joy’s nomination read: “Many colleagues comment positively about how much time she spends with service users in the communal areas, really taking the time to have meaningful interactions. Joy is a genuinely warm and giving person and really brings the team together in a tender-hearted and loving manner. She also seems to have an endless supply of kindness and time for our service users. Joy remains like this in the face of adversity on the ward, showing complete professionalism. In my opinion Joy is a real asset to Ruby Ward and C&I and well deserves to be the star of the month.”
One team member added: “Joy goes above and beyond her role and also helps with carrying out ECGs and blood tests to support the work of other colleagues.”
Joy was presented with a gift voucher, certificate, badge and biscuits by Trust Chair, Leisha Fullick. Leisha said: “Coming on to Ruby Ward, I can instantly feel the kindness and warmth shared between this team and with service users. I am thrilled to be presenting Joy with our Star of the Month award. Joy is a shining example of the cultural pillars we hold as a Trust, and I’d like to thank Joy for all her dedicated work at C&I.”
