Information about the London Ambulance Service strike

You may be aware that London Ambulance Service staff will again be on strike on Monday 23 January 2023. The strike will run from 12 noon to midnight.

It means that Ambulance crews will only respond to Category 1 or 2 calls, which cover the most urgent life-threatening injuries or illnesses.

If you, or someone you know, has a life-threatening mental or physical health condition, then you should still call 999. For less serious physical health problems, please call 111.

For other non-life-threatening mental health situations, please call our Crisis Line as usual on 0800 917 3333 and you can contact each borough’s Crisis Café for support if you need to:

  • Camden: 07825 165 464, seven days a week from 5-11pm (provided by Hestia).
  • Islington: Monday to Friday from 6pm-10pm, Saturdays and Sundays from 2pm-6pm (provided by Islington Mind, 020 7263 3397 or click here for full details).

We are working hard with our healthcare partners to ensure that anyone who needs emergency help will continue to receive it during this day of action.
