C&I’s iCope team has been shortlisted for Innovation in Mental Health and Primary Care in The National Positive Practice in Mental Health Awards 2015.
In the last year more than 21,000 people have been referred to the service which provides psychological treatments and therapies for people with mental health problems, such as anxiety and depression.
The team has been recognised for the innovative ways they provide high quality care to the people who use their service.
One patient commented, "My therapist guaranteed a safe and trusting environment throughout our sessions. She diligently explored every available resource for my benefit."
For example, they invite patients who have completed treatment to attend Service User Advisory groups run by iCope managers and clinical leads.
These sessions allow the views, voices and opinions of the people who use the service to be heard in order to make real improvement.
One service user said the sessions were "productive, enjoyable and worthwhile.” Their staff are also on hand at GP practices and other community settings.
Their mission is to continue to improve the delivery of mental health care and break down stigma surrounding mental health, to enable more people to have access to the care and support they need.
