C&I wins Gold Award

C&I has won a Gold Award, from the Ministry of Defence, in recognition of our ‘forces-friendly’ initiatives in the workplace, and our commitment and support to our Armed Forces personnel, veterans and their families.

This builds on our success last year when we received silver, in the prestigious Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS), which rewards organisations that support defence personnel, such as paid leave to reservists to train in readiness for future military operations, offering work placements and actively encouraging staff to join the reserve forces.

C&I leads on the Veterans’ Mental Health Transition, Intervention and Liaison (TIL) Service and Complex Treatment Service (CTS) – London and South East. These are mental health assessment and treatment services for ex-armed forces personal in Greater London, East and West Sussex, Surrey, Kent and Medway. A range of interventions are provided from common mental health problems to complex post traumatic stress disorder. Staff work in collaboration with other NHS and veteran charities and in co-production with lived experience experts to meet the needs of our AF.

Dr Sue Ferrier, Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Partnership Lead for the Veterans’ Mental Health TIL Service and Complex treatment Service, and Clinical Chair of the C&I Veterans Work stream said: ‘We’re delighted and so proud to receive this award and hope to continue to improve as a Trust to meet the needs of our veterans and their families’.

The Minister for Defence People and Veterans, Johnny Mercer, said: “The breadth and diversity of the winners this year shows how business support for the Armed Forces continues to grow no matter the sector, company size of location. I am grateful for the positive attitude and flexible policies these organisations have adopted towards the defence community, which is testament to the fantastic contribution our serving personnel, veterans and their families can make to any organisation. I am delighted that so many companies are supporting our people and that, through this scheme , we can give them to public recognition they deserve.”
