C&I FT Members step back in time on first historic tour

FT members step back in time

Members of Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust enjoyed a historic tour of Clerkenwell and the City on Saturday 5 March. The tour covered over 1000 years of history including King Henry VIII’s jousting ground and William Wallace’s memorial. The tour ended with liquid refreshments at the Crown Tavern pub where, in the early 1900s, Lenin and Stalin organised political rallies.

The tour was organised by Rob Drummond, Interim Lead Governor and Olga Cecilia Farach, Deputy Lead Governor. Rob says: “It was a brilliant day with so much history to enjoy. The tour lasted over two hours with one of the highlights being the visit to the churches of ‘St Bartholomew the Great’ and’ St Bartholomew the Less’.  This was our first tour and we are already planning a second for later in the year.”
