More than 160 staff, service users and volunteers turned out on Wednesday 11 September to celebrate the stars of C&I at the annual Star of the Year awards at Islington Assembly Hall.
Winners of each of the 13 award categories took centre stage to rapturous applause where they were congratulated on their achievements and accepted a special Star of the Year 2019 trophy and gift voucher.

Cultural Pillars Implementation: Emilia Marchitto
Frontline Service Award: Islington Crisis Team
Leader of the Year: Dr Vincent Kirchner
Lifetime Achievement Award: Peter Kane
Linda Polan Trophy – Service User Award: Tom O’Hagan
Staff recognition by a service user: Dr Antonio Metastasio
Team of the Year award: Business Development Team
Volunteer of the Year award: Restraint Debrief Team
Quality Improvement of the Year: Coral Ward
Service Improvement of the Year: Louise Cantrell
The night included fantastic performances by the Trust Choir and north London band, The Silencerz.
There was also time to mingle with colleagues and friends, enjoy a drink and a bite to eat and to have a dance.
Sally Quinn, Director of HR & Organisational Development, said: “This year we received a record number of nominations, so winning an award is a phenomenal achievement.
“The event atmosphere was amazing and we were delighted that so many of our colleagues, service users and volunteers, as well as people from other partner organisations, could attend.”
