More than 160 staff, service users and volunteers turned out on Wednesday 11 September to celebrate the stars of C&I at the annual Star of the Year awards at Islington Assembly Hall.
The Governor Elections’ results are now in! Firstly, we would like to thank all those who took part. We had a very good turnout for this year’s elections, with 27 candidates standing for the 9 seats, with each of the public, service user and staff constituencies strongly contested. This is a fantastic result and demonstrates that our many efforts have paid off. Voting closed yesterday after almost five weeks and we are delighted to announce that we have every Governor
Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust is inviting people who live and work near the Whittington Hospital to view drawings and plans for its new mental health hospital in Highgate. They are being asked for their views before the Trust applies to the local authority for full planning permission.
We are extending the nomination period for our ‘Carer of the Year’ category in our C&I Star of the Year Awards 2019. The new deadline for nominations in this category is 5pm, Tuesday 20 August.
A new study is to take place at the Trust, looking at whether smartphone technology can be used to detect and predict relapse in people with serious mental illness. Full details are here.
On Thursday 11 July, Camden Early Intervention Service colleagues were recognised for their dedicated work and presented with our latest Star of the Month award by Dean Howells, Director of Nursing and Quality.
More than 30 members of C&I Trust took part in Pride celebrations on Saturday.
This year the annual event was marking 50 years since the Stonewall Uprising, which started a series of events that led to the modern Pride movement.
More than a million people took part; there was a colourful parade, live stage performances in Trafalgar Square, and festivities in surrounding streets..

Two oil portraits of patients being cared for on South Wing about 40 years ago have been re-discovered and are on display as part of the Art of Caring exhibition at Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust.
