Congratulations to Lucilene Eccles, who has recently been awarded Star of the Month for her innovative approach to transforming the activity programme on offer to residents at Stacey Street Nursing Home.
Lucilene has been the Activities Coordinator at the home for over a year and with her impressive creativity, she has set up a number of activities which are open to residents on either a group or one-to-one basis, ranging from massages to reminiscence.
Another key project Lucilene has developed involves nursery children visiting the home and talking to residents, which has been very well-received.
Presenting Lucilene with a certificate, Star of the Month badge and an M&S voucher, Leisha Fullick, Trust Chair, said: “Always going above and beyond her responsibilities, Lucilene has built great relationships with both residents and staff, and makes every effort to engage with the family and friends of residents, even by involving them in the activities and projects she facilitates.”
Lucilene was nominated for the award by her colleague Geoff Holland, Administrator, who explained: “She is constantly improving the service at Stacey Street. With her personal approach and boundless energy, she always ensures the needs of residents are put first. Lucilene is an inspiration to us all.”
