Perinatal Mental Health Service UCLH

Our service is for women in the perinatal period - during pregnancy and up to 6 months after childbirth - who are experiencing mental health difficulties. Adult women 18+ Women in the perinatal period living in the Islington borough who have had their pregnancy booked at the Whittington hospital.

During the initial assessment one of our clinicians will conduct a psychiatric assessment and treatment. This involves making notes of your family, personal and medical history, as well as finding out a bit more about what kind of medication you are taking, before examining your mental state.

We support your mental health needs and will discuss the best treatment options available to you.

You may find you need to be referred  to other more relevant agencies and we will assist with this if necessary.
