iCope has been shortlisted for Innovation in Healthcare, Education and Training at the Health Education North Central and East London Quality Awards 2015.
Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust’s iCope service is a Psychological Therapies and Wellbeing service. It offers a range of brief psychological interventions to patients with common mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD and phobias in primary care.
The Islington iCope service has been recognised for iCope Talks which aimed to:
Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners, Cognitive Behavioural Therapists and Psychologists hosted over 26 talks in the past year at local primary schools educating parents and teachers on the impact of stress, low mood and relaxation.
“I attended this morning as a last minute decision and am very glad I did. Thank you very much”, said one the attendees.
Another added: “It's very helpful to know that there is help and support out there especially when you're faced with life changing situations. Thank you.”
The iCope talks model was a success and has been adapted to deliver to young people, BME groups and older adults.
95.6% of those who sat through the talks reported they would recommend iCope to a friend, and 92.3% of attendees said they’d seek help themselves.
Some schools have requested talks to be delivered to a fathers group and teaching staff during inset day.
The award ceremony will be held on 8th December, 5.30pm, at The Macmillan Hall, Senate House, Malet Street, WC1E 7HU.
