What we do:
The Infection Prevention & Control Staff together with the Consultant Microbiologist (Infection Control Doctor) works to prevent the spread of HCA infection by:
Providing staff training and education, this includes hand hygiene
Providing updated infection prevention and control policies and guidelines
Providing information and resources on infection prevention and control, e.g. newsletters, posters and fact sheets.
Providing support and guidance to all staff within Camden & Islington NHS Foundation Trust
Providing support in alert organism/condition and outbreak surveillance and management procedures.
Conducting and facilitating a programme of audit (environmental and practice)
Giving advice and information on the purchase of materials and equipment
Giving advice and information on planning, refurbishments and new build projects of all clinical environments
Working closely with key departments and services within the Trust
Working closely with the Director of Infection Prevention and Control (DIPC) and is part of the Trust Infection Control Committee
Providing timely advice, information and reports to key trust committees in order to monitor and promote improvements in practice.
